Hey council. You wouldn’t dare even put an advisory vote about rent control on the ballot. Would you?

 

Of course not. Rogers and Springer and the rest of that “concerned” crowd are all phonies. They talk a good line about ensuring affordable housing in Burbank, but in reality they don’t care.

At best they shove the issue off to their Landlord Tenant Commission for referral (and burying), which as we pointed earlier is packed with local property managers who work for landlords.

But it’s happening elsewhere, possibly even in Glendale and Pasadena. Great article here this week from the OC Register:

Much of this is big news. Getting rid of (or at least revising) Costa-Hawkins would be a good start, for one.
