Albano’s wrong

Our city attorney just said that the city made “confidential agreements” with Omar Rodriguez between the attorneys, and because of this they cannot be revealed to the public.

This is legally incorrect. In California there is no such thing as a settlement that is exempt from public disclosure, as soon as the proceedings have ended. And they do not have to be monetary.

More details here.

Gordon right now is trying to tie this settlement to Golonski’s sudden (and previously secret to the rest of the council) 70+ page deposition in the case, 16 of which were designated confidential under protective order.

Golonski must have revealed and or pinned something on somebody in order for the city to settle with Rodriguez this way. Normally Burbank would have taken this guy to the mat for legal fees alone.

Albano right now is accidentally leaking the fact that this confidential settlement had something to do with police matters, as in old police cases. (Can anybody scream “Porto’s”?) That’s why she thinks she can hide the (rest of) the settlement — just claim much of the info is under the purview of the BPD and thus not disclosable.

Oooops! Golonski just let the cat out of the bag. The reason why Burbank settled is because they did NOT WANT TO HAVE GOLONSKI’S DEPOSITION COME OUT. It must reveal who knew what and when.

Gordon’s doing a great job pinning these guys to the wall. And Talamantes is proving himself to be a neo-fascist.

Albano’s now saying that she hasn’t even read the whole document vis a vis the protective order? She also just said that they didn’t go for atty. fees and that Rodriguez got his workers comp.

So basically, in return for a gag order of sorts on him, O. Rodriguez got their atty fees dropped and his workers comp case unchallenged.

Burbank obviously wanted to keep OR on a big leash. He got some money via disability. Better than nothing. But it sounds like Burbank got more in exchange.

I am watching Councilman Gordon ask the city attorney questions about all of these police lawsuits. I am starting to think that the city attorney doesn’t know anything about any of these cases. She keeps saying she has not read things and does not know things. That leaves me to wonder just who is overseeing these police cases when clearly the city attorney is not. It amazes me all the money that has been spent and a city attorney that has read nothing and knows nothing at all. If the outside attorneys are doing everything then why are we even paying so much to this city attorney is the first place ? What good is she and what does she do to even earn that money ?

    • MAGSINBURBANK

Albano looks like an exact clone of Hummistan. I hear that Hummistan is the true culprit that is handling all of the lawsuits. That’s like the fox watching the henhouse. Isn’t Hummistan one of the people that started this whole MESS?

This Albano attorney can’t ever answer any question in any way that comes across as as honest. Please get her a new hair doo she sits their telling lies and filling my TV Screen with hair. Please get her a dramatic make over.

    • Anonymous

Tim maybe that’s because she is unable to handle the truth and can’t be honest. I think a lie detector should be hooked up to her at every council meeting. I don’t think she would pass the truth test.

      • semichorus

Yeah, we could hook it to a big bell. And let’s connect the whole council while we’re at it.

Maybe though it’d be a bad move– the damned bell would be going off all night.

I honestly dislike that city attorney more and more every week. She really needs to learn her place and stop answering people with so much attitude. She seems like she would be a total bitch to work for and I really think as a trial attorney juries would just plain hate her and always vote for the other side. She is a total loser as a city attorney and that just might be why this loser council likes her.

  4. BUrbank Resident

I wish Dr Gordon would ask the city attorney to explain for the public just what we pay her to do. How many times I watched and heard Barlow say his job was to represent the city council. If Barlow was right on that then how could the mayor get called to a deposition and the city clerk knows nothing about it and never reads it ? Sorry Amy Albano but that is beyond belief if your job is to represent the council members because how can you represent them if you don’t read or know what the mayor was asked or what he said ? I think the city attorney is lieing because ofcourse she either read that deposition or she is not doing her job so which is it ?

  5. Anonomous

Just how much do we poor taxpayers get to pay this lackluster city attorney. I heard we pay her over twenty thousand dollars a month with all her benefits and everything. I would not personally pay her more than fifty dollars a meeting. I would say she is lucky the taxpayers are dumb enough to allow her to feed at the public trough like a little pig.

I’ve heard the words “plausable deniability” used when someone is trying to skirt answers when there are serious criminal activities and no one wants to answer for them. They “don’t remember” or “can’t recall” anything that they were involved in that was illegal.

This new attorney makes even Juli Scott look good with all her arrogance and illegal activities. She is not only incompetent but ugly as hell. Warner Bros. must have done her hair and make up for the photos and introduction to the city before she came to work. No wonder the bad apples want the council to hire people from videos instead of interviews. This has really brought new meaning to incompetent hiring under Golonski’s rein of terror.

Albano’s not wrong. She”s a LIAR. And you know they paid out to Omar. Big Time. She lies about that too. The perfect CA for this shithole town. Right, Dave?

  8. chad

I’m losing here, Semi. Could we keep on topic with other stuff?….

    • DixieFlyer

      Sorry Chad,
Ever go off topic over “film” random thoughts?
      Check with a CityCab driver,
catch a ride to Gary Bric’s Ramp,
      tell ’em to turn LEFT………..

  9. American Citizen

Albano and Golonski are misusing and abusing their authority. For years Golonski has done things with the assistance of police power and it has simply been police abuse and abuse of his office as a city council member.

The incident that he created with Nolan is yet one more example. Officer remove that man Golonski yells and off goes a cop to abuse the rights of an American Citizen.

This abuse of power must end. In So Cal people are speaking out and rising up against this abuse as they grow tired of being harassed and harmed by the cops whoes salaries they pay.

There is no excuse for Golonski and clapping is not a crime. I ask Golonski to watch the video below and consider what a real disruption of city hall is and to consider what his type of behavior and abuse can lead to.

    • semichorus

I think it’s pretty obvious that this being a big week and all for news, Golonski did NOT want Nolan speaking at orals and prying into details. So he drummed up an excuse to toss him out.

      • Guest Pass

I like your thinking here and I do agree.

        • the Dragon

That adds up big time. Daviepooo never knows what Nolan will read or say at council meetings. The City Attorney always gets baffled and confused and Daviepoo sits there turning red. The problem really is not Nolan, it’s that the City Attorney and Daviepoo try to hide everything from everyone all the time. I have a very strong suspicion at this point that the reason why everything must be hidden is because Daviepoo knows just how bad everything they do really is, in other words it must be hidden to protect Daviepoo from the truth. Sitting right in the middle of the cover ups is that City Attorney, she is like the maid pulling the bedspread up over the mess in the bed every other minute instead of being upfront and saying hey Daviepoo it’s time to change the sheets and clean this mess up. Daviepoo and the City Attorney are like bed bugs and we have a bed bug infestation at city hall and all they do is help the bed bugs to hide so they can come out in the dark and feed on our wallets.

The Police Officer should not have been put in that position.
The Command Staff needs to review their Policies &Procedures for the Duty Assignment of a City Council Meeting.
It’s patently unfair to blame the Officer.

      Golonski didn’t warn anybody.

He couldn’t as no Law was broken, there was no Law to Enforce.

Mr. Nolan spoke to assert his Right to clap his hands in a Public Meeting, as countless others had for almost two hours that night.

  10. Earth Person stranded in Burbank

Next week if Golonski doesn’t like how things are shaping up he’ll instruct the firemen or police to pull the fire alarm to vacate the chamber.

He is losing control and everyone is tired of his BS. He probably instructed Flad to have something more powerful than a brick thrown through Dr. Gordon’s window by one of the BPOA’s, and Flad said … “enough is enough.”

Golonski is a crook and everyone is finally waking up to his years of abuse of power. The number of people he has attacked either with police or city attorney filings, or both, would be enormous if anyone ever dug up all the violations of civil rights and wrongful prosecution.

    • DixieFlyer

      Earth Person you are RIGHT!

The Dork used City Employee’s to go after the Gas Station at Clark & Hollywood Way for the lights in their Price Sign.

They actually were so energy efficient that we had changed-out the Red-Yellow-Green “bulbs” in the Traffic Lights at that very intersection!!!

      El Dorko wanted them Prosecuted!!!

The Fed’s have been receiving significant specific information as to the “level” & “frequency” of his utilization of sworn personnel to carry out his “bidding”.

      “Step-by-step……..”

      • semichorus

I’d forgotten about that, yes. Just like the industrial shops on Burbank Blvd., if Golonski doesn’t like it, it suddenly becomes a big issue for enforcement and eventual harassment.

As I remember too, he made a big deal about Gordon’s involvement on the sign issue, being that G. is right across the street.

And then let’s not forget Mr. Health Net having the audacity to turn Gordon in on Burbank’s eye-care insurance– which necessitated Gordon having to hire an attorney to defend himself– which they would not pay for after they LOST.

    • Al Gardena

Tell me Earth Person, who threw the brick. No need to keep a secret unless, of course, you’re full of s—.

  11. Burbank Tax Payer

As a taxpayer everytime I hear about the costly situation with our police department I am reminded of just how costly the abuse and misuse of police strength and presence really is. I am deeply concerned about police being used to supress the civil rights of the public. Let us not forget that Burbank fired officers and came under investigation by the federal government precisely because of police corruption and abuse of powers. If I understand all of this correctly my end conclusion would be that there is no reason and no excuse that the mayor should be able to order the police to attack, assault or even harass any citizen what so ever. It is shocking to think that police would go after anyone simply from the fact that the mayor didn’t approve of or like them and it reminds me of horrid dictatorships around the world and certainly is not within the rule of law.

    Sorry, can’t hear you Dixie.

Burbank is just like Bell and every other dirty little city. That’s why they hide everything.

    • Anonymous

To me, Burbank is actually worse than Bell in that the Golonskipoo has persecuted businesses and citizens in addition to all the other corruption under his 20 years of terrorizing and giving away the town.

      • DixieFlyer

For some “curious” reason Golonskipoo is attempting to form “carpools” to the newly discovered Garden Spot of South Gate to regale their City Council praising Mike Flad???

If Flad is such a”Gem”, why would any of the Grand Poobah’s encourage another City to “hire-him-away”???

Is this some nefarious effort to confuse? ….or is Daviepoo loosing it?

        • DixieFlyer

Village abuzz since Thursday as to what, if anything the Feds are doing.

“Paper-hanging” is but one of the recent activities.

Two Burbank sworn personnel have been contacted to arrange for performances before a Federal Grand Jury convened in Los Angeles.

They are NOT “subject’s” at this time and hopefully never will be.

Juli Scott is another matter, altogether.

The hope is that they can shed some “light” on some parts of the MESS Juli and the “hummer” have created.

As they are still respected Members of the Department their names aren’t being “plastered” as the LATimes did some time back.

The FBI never did “just show(ed) up”.

They have been “invited” more than once.

        • semichorus

It would come across as strange, yes, at least to me, if I were in South Gate sitting there listening to people praise him. It would be like they were really saying, “Take him! Take him!”

        • E.R.

Daviepoo is just a straight up control freak and now it sounds like he wants to control South Gate. It would not be the first time Daviepoo advised and “encouraged” people to go support something. What threat did Daviepoo insinuate to people will happen if they don’t car pool as suggested ?

          • BettySingleCvilianHappily

If they supported a non-profit, he’d threaten to cut-off their funding.
Like he’s done for the last four years.

What’s the sound of one clapping?

  15. chad

It seems to me that they have at least the goods on Scott for intimidating officers who might come forward at an open meeting. That’s got to be one of the dumber things I’ve heard since, well, Romney last spoke.

  16. albano is wrong,a liar, shes takes cases handed down by corrupt, dirty lying cops that lie on the reports about how the arrest took place and she doesn’t read the reports she just takes them and puts innocent people in jail or make them take a deal n we have to spend r hard working money on lies. She’s has no business being a city attorney. That’s why the city n cops r being investigated cuz she let’s cops get away with crimes n its ok. I hope she goes to jail for her crimes that shes been gettin away with. I no for a fact shes does do this is cuz its happen to me n I don’t need to go to law school to see that my police report n complaint is wrong. She needs to go down n take her brownie points away that goes for her employers Diana chung n her other crime partners. They have judges to defend them n they need to go to.
