I think this cameo by Frank Middlemass is my favorite scene in all of movies. I saw this movie the first day it was out, at the Cinerama Dome, and the audience went completely nuts. No one had ever seen anything like it. The scene went right to intermission.
Middlemass also does that pre-20th century British mannerisms thing perfectly. The facial gestures and pauses are amazingly realistic. My English-family grandmother talked and acted like that exactly when angered.
I had the luck to watch that on a big screen. Insanely gorgeous and ugly at he same time.
