And this has to do with Glendale how?

It doesn’t.

The Armenian American Museum and Cultural Center (AAM) is planned to be built across from the Central Library in downtown Glendale. The Museum envisions an iconic design that will depict the rock formations and mountain range found in Armenia. Alajajian-Marcoosi Artchitects described the design as also capturing the sensation one gets from the San Gabriel Mountains rising to the north of Glendale. (Courtesy renderings)

Yeah, they had to cynically slip reference to the San Gabriel’s in there to keep it from getting too perversely inappropriate. But remember the Native Americans who used to live here?

Instead, one special-interest ethnicity gets all the attention. And the public space and money.

They might as well start renaming the streets.

I gave up on Glendale years ago. I avoid driving through that disaster as much as possible.

“And this has to do with Glendale how?”

Glendale has the largest population of Armenians outside of Armenia – that is how.

Here go through the list and get outraged over each and EVERY one – because the ultimate hypocrisy would be to rationalize some but not others:

There’s nothing historical or national in import and influence about the Armenian presence in Glendale to warrant the expenditure of public money. It’s hardly the Harlem Renaissance over there.

Your list is mostly privately funded institutions, and on private property. The ones that aren’t have a longtime historical tie-in.

Yes, Armenians deserve public recognition in Glendale with a fancy taxpayer subsidized museum. Hispanics and Native Americans can get lost.

It’s a travesty. No one’s gonna go there anyway.

        Hurray!!!
Al in So Cal can read, cut & paste.
        What an ass–et

Al always likes to compare apples with oranges in order to ferret out the supposed hypocrisies in others.

Almost all of those institutions he cites for instance are private. Most aren’t “museums,” either. They’re cultural centers. Big difference. The ones that are public have a heavy duty historical element … like they’re about MEXICANS maybe.

If people in Glendale want an ethnic-identifying “Armenian Museum” then more power to them. But not at public expense.

If the media hates you, then chances are the American People Love You. It looks like this is the truth.

Yes! The GOP had to spend almost $50 million to save a seat in a hard-right district from a tyro Democrat who almost beat them.

      Victory! *M*A*G*A !

      • Darrin

Not true Semichorus. The Dems in Hollywood spent millions to lose. If they keep trying they will get their wish and go broke. They claim to hate rich white people and most of them are rich and white

Dem-o-rats Underspent in Montana= One Lost Seat

Dem-o-rats Overspent in Georgia_ One More Lost Seat

        TWO wins for our Republic.

TWO losses, and millions consumed for them.
