No, it’s not robbery when someone holds you at gunpoint and forces you to hand over money

The videos clearly show one thing in that Rio incident, but the corporate media says something different.

And then of course there’s the coerced “apology” — which the same corrupt (and near-psychotic) corporate media claims is clear proof of wrongdoing:

Since when do “gas stations” hold you at gunpoint to make you pay for alleged (and undefined) “damages”? The media thinks this makes sense? That it’s not robbery?

And they don’t even bother to ask what those damages were! It looks like what happened is that these athletes were denied the use of the bathrooms and so one of them took a leak outside. Big deal. And who’s fault was that?

What damage was there, news media?

Rio obviously wants to save face with the outside world over this bad publicity, and the TV networks don’t want to jeopardize their lucrative news deals with them. And so this inane and dishonest description of the true events ensued. And people are buying it.

We’re living in a criminally stupid and corrupt intellectual environment in this country. Expect the worst.

Expect this:

We’re living in a criminally stupid and corrupt intellectual environment in this country. Expect the worst.

I agree just look at Hillary’s email issue you and I would already be in prison for that private server.

    • semichorus

      That’s just so untrue.

And how come we never hear about what Trump’s been up to the last 10 years?

      • Longshanks

        “That’s just so untrue.”

        Please explain – in detail.

“And how come we never hear about what Trump’s been up to the last 10 years?”

I’m guessing it’s because Trump hasn’t been running for office nor has he held a position like Secretary of State for the last few years, whereas Hillary Clinton has.

We get it, you’re not a Trump supporter (like many of us), but to overlook/defend Hillary’s mistakes is just flat out wrong. You’re better than that.

        • Anonymous 3.0

Yup, Trump has not been in a position paid for by the taxpayers over the years so we do not know or get to know all his private business. Hilllary has worked for us and she has been paid by our tax dollars. Her emails are ours, she was working for us so it is a big difference.

          • Longshanks

” Hillary has worked for us and she has been paid by our tax dollars. Her emails are ours…”

With the exception of the 30,000+ emails she had deleted, right?

Think about it, how many personal/yoga/wedding planning emails is that during a 4-year term? 7,500 (conservatively)? No way.

Again, I’m not pulling for Trump or any other candidate not named Clinton, but seriously, take the blinders off…

            • semichorus

Condoleeza Rice deleted ALL of her emails when she left the same position. Where’s the outrage there?

It’s a phony issue. Just more right wing harassment of the Clintons.

              • Longshanks

                (“That’s just so untrue.”

                Please explain – in detail.)

Still waiting for your answer on that.

“Condoleeza Rice deleted ALL of her emails when she left the same position. Where’s the outrage there?”

When Rice, Powell or any other past Secretary of State runs for President, I’ll be sure to bring it up. Until then, we are speaking specifically about Hillary Clinton with regards to emails.

                • semichorus

Repeatedly referring to her emails as a “scandal” does not make it one.

It was a private email server. She deleted her private emails. So what.

Let’s see Trump’s personal emails. Let’s see his tax returns.

              • Longshanks

In reply to semichorus’s 10:12pm replay below (for some reason I can’t reply directly to your response):

“Repeatedly referring to her emails as a “scandal” does not make it one.”

I just double-checked my posts here, and never once have I referred to them as a “scandal”. Is what she did complete bullsh*t? Absolutely. Feel free to quote me on that.

“It was a private email server. She deleted her private emails. So what.”

Except she was also running her government work via the same email/server. No other SoS used a PRIVATE SERVER. Yes, they may have used a private email address (g-mail/whatever) but it wasn’t a PRIVATE SERVER – therein lies the difference.

Again, using the figures I posted in an earlier post for 30,000 “personal” emails that were deleted over a 4 year term, that works out to a little over 20 “personal” emails per day. Again – no way. If I’m sitting on a jury and that is presented to me as evidence, I’m calling bullsh*t on the defendant.

                “Let’s see Trump’s personal emails.”

Let’s see every Presidential candidates personal email then, or how about your’s? Believe me I’m all about the right to privacy, but when U.S. business is being conducted on a private email/server as Hillary did, am I wrong to raise an eyebrow about that?

                “Let’s see his tax returns.”

Amen (all right – now we both agree on something!). I recall Trump giving Romney grief back in 2012 for not doing so, so it seems weird for him to not “practice what he preaches” now. Yeah, he has that “audit” story, but from what I understand that wouldn’t prevent him from releasing that data.

I get your hatred towards Trump, but to defend Hillary Clinton is just wrong.

                My .02

                • semichorus

She wasn’t running her government work on her private server. She also had a State email account, which was used for business and classified material.

That’s why there were only TWO low-classified emails found on her server. That were sent to her by OTHER PEOPLE, and not even notated correctly..

It’s standard practice to delete personal emails. And lack of evidence is not evidence of wrongdoing. This is nothing but an innuendo-laden smear campaign against the Clintons.

              • Longshanks

                From semichorus:

“She wasn’t running her government work on her private server. She also had a State email account, which was used for business and classified material.”

Care to site your sources on that? From what I’ve seen that simply is not true:

                http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2015/mar/12/hillary-clintons-email-did-she-follow-all-rules/

Better yet, take a look at her emails yourself over on WikiLeaks – here is a quick example after typing in “Russia” in the search box:

                https://wikileaks.org/clinton-emails/emailid/5610

I don’t know, that certainly looks like “government related work” to me – and take a look at the email address she sent it from “hrod17@clintonemail.com” – not a @state.gov account.

                • semichorus

It’s for an outside press release. Big deal.

There were only two “classified” emails. Which means the rest had to go somewhere.

She did nothing wrong. It’s all a completely bogus issue. Meanwhile, Trump deliberately hides everything.

The rules are always different for “the Clintons.”

              • Longshanks

“It’s for an outside press release. Big deal.”

So are you saying she didn’t conduct “official business” with her private email/server or no? I provided a quick example where she was doing exactly that, and you dismiss it with your statement above? Go through the other 29,999+ thousand emails and find an example of where what I posted earlier is false. I’ll wait…

“There were only two “classified” emails. Which means the rest had to go somewhere.”

As long as there was 1 instance of there being classified material she is wrong for her behavior. Agin, where exactly are you drawing your fact froms? Please provide specific links as I have done.

“She did nothing wrong. It’s all a completely bogus issue. Meanwhile, Trump deliberately hides everything.”

Again, we are not talking about Trump (well at least I’m not trying to deflect)

The rules are always different for “the Clintons.”

Negative. The rules should be the same for every member of the government. Why do “The Clintons” get a special pass by you? Keep in mind I’m SPECIFICALLY talking about Hillary’s record/actions, not “The Clintons” et al. Please try to stay on point. Whatever Bill C did as President is old news. I’m talking about current events/revelations.

No offense, but the more you try to defend Hillary, the more you sound more like a paid shill for her. I know that is not the case, but that’s how it comes across. Just so’s you know.

                To me anyway…

There is great corruption in Washington and Clinton is right in the middle of it all

  3. Longshanks

Way to turn a non-politcal story into a political one there at the end.

Seriously WTF does this have to do with either Trump, Hillary, Stein, or Johnson?

    • semichorus

These media-driven campaigns are driven by a corrupt and near-psychotic media. It’s all the same kettle of fish. They’re nuts and they’re stupid, and it’s absolutely dooming the rest of us.

  4. Longshanks

So you need to do the same?
