That’s about the extent of it.
Council is going to approve most development that comes its way in order to drive up tax receipts.
People need somewhere to live and Burbank is very popular. Why shouldn’t people be able to live here. I’ve looked for a apt for months, and can’t find anything. It’s a fact people want to live near there work and not drive. I work in Burbank and want to stay here. It’s a great community. Amazing police dept and fire. Not to mention great restaurants. So I hope there can be more apts
For 3,000 a month you can live here in one of those fancy community centers.
But if you’re gonna have to pay THAT much $$$ for an apartment, you’re crazy to want to spend it in Burbank of all places. Talk about a waste.
Plus, no one’s saying don’t build more apts in Burbank– we’ve built tons of them over the last 15 years (a fact that gets deliberately ignored these days — you’d think we’d had a moratorium since 1950 or so the way these Big Growth promoters carry on).
Just not two or three thousand more downtown.
The apartment proposal to replace Ikea will come in more like 750. Still a lot, but they will be displacing a lot of commercial stuff.
