It takes two, baby

Two Leader issues back to back.

Four separate front page “news” articles about the Airport:

FireShot Capture 91 - Burbank Leader - Burbank polit_ - http___www.latimes.com_socal_burbank-leader_

FireShot Capture 92 - Burbank Leader - Burbank polit_ - http___www.latimes.com_socal_burbank-leader_

FireShot Capture 93 - Burbank Leader - Burbank polit_ - http___www.latimes.com_socal_burbank-leader_

FireShot Capture 94 - Burbank Leader - Burbank polit_ - http___www.latimes.com_socal_burbank-leader_

Why don’t they just set up their printing plant over there. It’d be right nearby their new editorial offices, obviously.

Or are these just re-written press releases?

I would bet rewritten airport press releases. They should do a story and let us all know how many passengers arrive by bike.

  2. BURBANK BILL

At least they finally took action on all those damn lights. I was leaving a function at Luther recently, an that lights were SO BRIGHT ,even from that distance. It’s nuts. Dave Pirolli has been on the case for the hideous building from day one!!!!

I’ll not dwell on the irony of Mr. Three Names stumbling onto a “Bric” story.

The fun gets going in his story on the Hideous Building.

No quotes from David P as the “original” observer of the waste of energy.

No credit given to Dirty Dan the exec. director for claiming that the “rental car companies” demanded the “bright” lights for security

Then come quotes from Commissioner Don Brown to the effect that the complaints were directed to the City Council???

Videos from the Airport Authority meetings show Mr. Mike Nolan alerting them to the problem directly.

Here comes that pattern from chad the beard: “Only quote people with govmint titles”–play it safe at all costs–even if the story is flat.

BY ALL MEANS refer to the “airport” as an AIRFIELD.

By all means make the same stupid moves your predecessor made so that the readers won’t notice the change.

….and make SURE to be at least one hour late:

    To avoid Public Comment, entirely.

Mike Nolan paying tribute to … Mike Nolan

“Videos from the Airport Authority meetings show Mr. Mike Nolan alerting them to the problem directly.”

Mike – have you ever attended a non-broadcasted meeting of any sort or are the cameras a necessity?

      • semichorus

Hey, asshole Al: Mike has been attending meetings for over 50 years.

Long before there were ever cameras. He goes to many now– still — that lack them.

Sorry – I was absent at the gold star receiving seminar. What’s better – someone CHOSEN (as in voted in) by the people – or a self-anointed know-it-all who doesn’t have the NERVE or backbone to run – because he knows he’d LOSE!

Dr. Gordon, the Berlins, Jesse Byers and Bergman (can’t remember his first name) ALL had the guts to run .. who hasn’t – the weekly microphone time-wasters at the council meetings. Why – TWO reasons.

They like to hear themselves talk and don’t want to be denied by the people (who actually voted FOR the city Councilmembers currently serving) and they relish people like YOU glorifying everything they do as if a ray of light from above beckons to them … a higher calling.

I won’t mention the NUMEROUS times you replied to me with a copy/paste note about ad hominem attacks – I would say calling me schoolyard names qualifies – so please .. just take a breath count to 10 before replying. =)

Mike Nolan ran back in the 1980s. So your little theory here doesn’t pan out.

And quite often the critics have more things to say than the incumbents. There’s room for both.

Also … none of this has anything to do with what they are SAYING. What counts are the ideas, not the stature of the speakers.

            • Al in SoCal

So – what you’re saying is he ran 30+ years ago once and lost. Good for him for running – that is what people who want “their” ideas to be “our” ideas do.

Yes, what they are saying matters – but it gets tired when it is the same person. Just saying – anyway we can agree to disagree.
