Hey, what about that Verdugo/I-5 crossing we were promised?

Ever since the Golden State first went in we’ve been promised that Verdugo would get reconnected down where Jergens used to be.

It was and is a main drag, especially for the Hillside people. It was used a lot in the old days, and now you have to go all the way around to reach the Flatlands. Olive’s a cumbersome mess, and have you seen Alameda these days near Trader Joe’s?

So what about it? There’s a freeway overpass there already, but we need a grade crossing to make it complete. And while we’re at it, how about Allen in Glendale behind Home Depot?

Both those crossings could help relieve local traffic. A Verdugo connection would also immediately revive that moribund neighborhood off of Lake.

Downtown-close? What a selling point.

Hell the median down Glenoaks makes getting off the hill a pain. Add the speed bumps on Alamedia and the lights that take forever on Verdugo and Angeleno this wouldn’t happen in the Rancho.

BTW, you have failed to give staff credit for coming up with a Bike Path from the RITZ Center to Little Tijuana!!!

There’s the additional benefit of a stop off at Compass Park.

The staff report commented on the difficulty of Buses trying to traverse the area???

They failed to point out that we just spent a fortune on Lake Street from Magnolia to Olive!?!

      What buses?

Yes, that Lake Street and Flower– they’re like tiny little alleyways, aren’t they? You can even get trucks in that neighborhood!

I have no respect for any council member who allows staff to get away with this kind of dishonesty in a written report. They should be grilled into the fucking ground over such ridiculous statements.

Apparently though, council members are either not allowed to ask follow-up questions of their people, or are incapable of doing so.

To even ASK a question, let alone pose a follow-up is “deemed-to-be-disloyal”.

Staff resents even attending a City Council Meeting.

When they meet with other staff members they feel their “input” is more appreciated: while at a City Council Meeting the Public even gets to raise questions that somehow show the “holes” in their presentations.

Some members of the Public have even pointed-out that the runt is playing on her laptop—and have claimed that that is why she needs questions repeated to her.

How DID Plan B on the Taco Bell get past her???

        Was it over her head?
